8th ASEAN Ports and Shipping 2010 Vietnam Exhibition and Conference
Locatie:    Windsor Plaza Hotel, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
Perioada:  20 Mai 2010 - 21 Mai 2010

ASEAN Ports and Shipping is the largest annual Ports, Shipping, and Logistics Exhibition and Conference trade event in the ASEAN region and one of the largest in the Asia Pacific region.

It is an honour that the Ministry of Transport Vietnam has endorsed the 8th ASEAN Ports and Shipping 2010 Vietnam Exhibition and Conference taking place at the luxurious 5 star Windsor Plaza Hotel, Ho Chi Minh City on Thursday 20 and Friday 21 May 2010.

In progressing the development of Vietnam’s maritime industry, the Vietnam Maritime Code has been revised to encourage all Vietnamese and foreign organisations and companies to invest in developing Vietnam’s shipping industry, port facilities, maintenance and management. With the long-term goal to reform the marine sector beyond 2010, the Vietnamese government aims to develop the shipping sector as a leading industry of the sea-based economy, further international economic integration and ensure sustainable growth.

The Vietnamese maritime sector will build additional deep-water ports in the north, centre and south, as well as the Van Phong International Seaport after completing upgrade and expansion of ten key ports. The ten ports to be upgraded include Cai Lan, Hai Phong, Cua Lo, Da Nang, Nha Trang, Qui Nhon, Sai Gon, Can Tho, Thi Vai and Dung Quat. In addition, the sector will develop key projects including the Lach Huyen Seaport in the city of Hai Phong, the Lien Chieu Seaport in the central city of Da Nang and the Cai Mep-Thi Vai Seaport in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau. Vietnam aims to increase port capacity for incoming ships by 20% and cargo loading capacity by 12% to meet increasing demand in imports and exports.

The 8th ASEAN Ports and Shipping 2010 will provide companies an ideal platform to showcase products and services to this dynamic emerging market. This event also presents opportunities for companies and industry professionals to raise brand awareness, launch new products, network and establish business contacts. On Wednesday 19 May 2010, there will be a Technical Site Visit to Saigon Port and other container terminal operations. On Thursday 20 May 2010, there will be an evening Networking Welcome Reception that promises to be one of the social highlights of the event for all participants and spouses.

There will be a two days Exhibition of 100 international companies and sponsors showcasing containerised transport products and services. On Thursday 20 and Friday 21 May 2010, there will be a concurrent two days Conference featuring 35 world-class business leading conference speakers  analysing latest global transport and logistics issues attended by more than 600 senior executive delegates from 25 countries comprising some of the world’s leading shipping lines, shippers, cargo owners, importers / exporters, freight forwarders, logistics companies, ports, terminal operators, port equipment and services suppliers.
