Actuality - EVW HOLDING ESTIMATES 640 MILLION EUROS TRUCK MARKET THIS YEAR

DAF trucks importer EVW Holding planned sales totaling 1.500 units, up from 1.100 last year. EVW’s representatives estimate a total market of 8.000 units this year, up from 5.000 trucks in 2006.
According to the DAF brand importer, this year seems to be a comeback time for long haul trucks, with a market share in the range of 60%. Trucks for construction works will be deposed from leading market share position after three years of dominance. On the longer term, truck sales in Romania might hit 15.000-20.000 units, because there’s a deficit of transport capacity. EVW reports that Romania has 22 million inhabitants and only 13.000 trucks allowed to make shipments abroad, while the EU average is one truck for one hundred people.
