After the rally in January in Bucharest, road passenger transporters announced last month the imminence of a new protest.

This time, they threaten with the suspension of transport services because of cash-flow shutdown endorsed by the authorities. Transporters want to stop halt their buses because of delayed pay of the subsidies for tickets offered to passengers from social categories that enjoy certain advantages, such as veterans and retired people.

The Romanian Federation of Transport Operators (FORT) asked for the urgent pay of subsidies by the Finance Ministry, requesting support from the Ministry of Transports and Infrastructure. The approach had no effect, so the Federation announced that this month passenger carriers will cease their activity.
