Baneasa airport reopens this month

Air traffic on the Aurel Vlaicu International Airport (Baneasa) will resume this month, following completion of repairs started in May. Flights will probably be resumed on August 2nd.

All low-cost operators told us they want to get back on Baneasa, because at Otopeni they were forced to fly either very early in the morning or very late in the evening, causing passengers discomfort“, said Stefan Mladin, general director of the ”Aurel Vlaicu“ International Airport. Tourism agencies also complained about conditions on Otopeni, stating that waiting times reached an unacceptable level of two hours. On the other hand, representatives of the Otopeni airport denied such problems, admitting that the traffic got disturbed only in the beginning of June, because of some problems with the security system.
