Big investments and exclusive perspectives for Baneasa

RBT editia nr. 17/Martie 2008 Articol adaugata la, 05 Martie 2008 ( RBT )
Afisari: 212

The investments at the International Airport Aurel Vlaicu (Baneasa) will go on in 2008, although the minister of Transports, Ludovic Orban, had announced that in less then 10 years time only light aircraft would be allowed to operate at Baneasa.

According to the airport’s board, it is possible that investments might surpass 15 million Euros this year, some 10 to 11 million Euros being reserved for a new passenger terminal. Taking into account the change in the airport’s purpose in the forthcoming decade by giving up on the low-cost routes and their replacement with some expensive business flights, all these projects don’t seem too appropriate. However, current high traffic growth makes investments necessary.
