On the left bank of the Danube, nothing changed: new people with bold plans (old projects of those removed from key decision positions not long ago) and some concerns about the risk of isolation Romania faces if things don't get better in the infrastructure area. Such a trend is not surprising, since the world doesn't fall in drowsiness because of summer heat. On the contrary, Europe keeps issuing new laws and clerks at Transportation Ministry have to find ways to apply Brusel regulations in Romania. This task often proves impossible, so local authorities have to keep ask for postponements. Last month brought two new examples of such requests: a proposal to prolong Romania's transition period on digital tachographs implementation and one coming from minister Ludovic Orban himself, regarding the third rail package recently adopted by the European Parliament.
