The wagons, representing some 4% of the national freight rail operator, were sold as scrap iron, at a price of 301 euros/ton. The move comes after CFR Marfa initiated two joint ventures aimed at refurbishing ageing wagons.
”CFR Marfa is one of the major customers of the Romanian Commodities Exchange, although this transaction is one of the few selling actions made by CFR. Most of the transactions concluded by CFR Marfa were buying ones, the institution being the third on a top of the awarded contracts, in terms of value“, said Marilena Constantinescu, PR Manager of BRM.
