Starting a courier business is a good idea since almost every company makes use of the services provided by players in this field. In theory, a Romanian start-up in the courier field requires only 30.000 Euros. However, competition is fierce, so a budget for success may be as high as 250.000 Euros. ”I’ve seen companies investing even 500.000 Euros and then going bankrupt in a few years. The amount of money isn’t that important. Know-how is the secret. And, of course, the conjuncture. Last but not least, it’s important to plan ahead, to run the numbers to see an evolution path“, says Octavian Badescu, secretary general of the Romanian Courier Operators Association.
