Already a tradition now, last month’s fourth edition of Constanta Port’s Day in Budapest reunited officials of the government, of the port administration, of the professional associations and business representatives from Romania and Hungary.

Approximately 140 participants were able to draw new business partnerships, capitalizing on the positive development of the goods flows between the two countries. Thus, although 2009 was marked by droppings in the overall port’s activity, cargo flows between Constanta and Hungary increased by 11% in 2009. In order to further encourage this trend, the National Company Maritime Ports Administration Constanta signed a cooperation protocol with the Association of the Hungarian Logistics Service Centres.

During the promotional event in Budapest, the representative of the port administration presented the investment projects designed to contribute to economic development and to attracting new business partners: building a bridge that will connect the north and south parts of the port, extension of the northern breakwater, building a connection bridge between the shore and the artificial island in the harbour basin and developing new quays in the southern part of the port.
