With more than 30 years of experience, CERONAV company is the only training center in Romania accredited by the Romanian Naval Authority (NRA) that firstly met the standard requirements and the IMO (International Maritime Organization) criteria under the STCW Convention (Standards of Training, Certification and Watch Keeping). Also, the company was specifically designated by the Ministry of Transport, through the order 1627/2006 to organize and conduct mandatory courses covered by the STCW maritime safety.

So far, CERONAV held annually around 2.000 training groups, expertise and qualifications for approximately 32.000 students in maritime, on the topic of inland waterways and port shipping in accordance with the requirements of national and international regulations (STCW’95, ISM Code, Danube Convention), under the ISO 9001/2000 quality standards.

For example, CERONAV organizes the ”Ice Navigation in the Baltic Sea“ training. During the program, students will receive the necessary theoretical and practical training that will be conducted by using the complex Simulator TRANSAS - integrated navigating platforms. The equipment is able to simulate different ice sailing situations, including icebreaker assistance. The course content provides ways to request an icebreaker’s assistance or towing on ice, the interpretation of weather maps for the area and taking action to protect the vessel, cargo and crew. tion in this area.
