DHL wants to take over Cargus

RBT editia nr. 17/Martie 2008 Articol adaugata la, 05 Martie 2008 ( RBT )
Afisari: 208

DHL, a company controlled by Deutsche Post World Net, negotiates buying into the local courier Cargus, owned by Augustin Plesea and Carmina Dumitrescu.

Cargus conveyed last year that they were to examine three options for supporting their investments plans: to conclude a strategic partnership, to attract an investment fund or to use a public listing at the stock exchange. The investment plan for 2008 goes up to 10 million Euros as follows: 2 millions each for the vehicle fleet expansion and portable electronic equipping for transmitting the receiver’s sample signature to the sender, 2,5 million Euros for warehouse facilities and 3 millions for automatic delivery package sorting lines.

According to some sources on the courier market, Cargus might be worth close to 50 million Euros, having closed last year with a 29,7 million Euros turnover and estimating a 50% growth in 2008.
