According to a recent report from Manpower recruitment company, managers are not at all optimistic about the forthcoming employment for the October-December 2009 term.

At the national level, almost 60% of the employers say they will keep their current level of employment for the last quarter of the year, 14% of them foresee an employment growth, while 25% expect a decrease.

Perspectives are gloomy in constructions (-23%), energy, gas and water supply (-22%). Transports, storage and communications are added on the black list, with a -17% Net Employment Forecast.

”In the current economic climate one could only see that many companies continue to freeze the recruitment activity for the foreseeable future. Thus, many employers use workforce working under temporary or contract basis to cover short-term demands and needs. They will increase the number of employees only when they find clear signs of recovery in the economic situation,“ said Camelia Stanculescu, General Manager at Manpower Romania.
