DuraSeal, the anti-puncture miracle

Goodyear presented last month a strategy of extending the anti-puncture tire range for the line-haul trucking. In the strategy, the new Unisteel G316 LHT trailer tires, equipped with the anti-puncture DuraSeal technology, were made available for the North American dealers. This type of tires, launched in 2005, was available only for mixed-service applications - such as logging, construction and mining.

The anti-puncture tires feature a self-sealing agent allowing vehicles to continue operating after a tire is punctured by road debris up to 6 mm diameter. The secret consists of using a gel-like, solvent-free compound built into the inner liner of the tire.

Apart from the faultless behavior in case of puncture, the tire range G316 LHT is recommended by even more characteristics: a solid shoulder rib and innovative pressure distribution groove help resist shoulder wear, while an all-steel four-belt package helps to provide a solid foundation for multiple retreads.
