Radu Berceanu, the minister of Transports and Infrastructure, presented last month a new concept of financing the construction of motorways, stating once again that EU money is not enough to cover all the costs.

In order to make more with less money, the minister announced that motorway sections considered ”very complicated and very expensive“ will be built by private entrepreneurs, who will then manage both the sections built and some of the ones already in place, in order to recover their investment through road tolls.
