On April 4th, Cefin Romania launched the new heavyweight Iveco, Stralis AS3. Planning to sell 250 units this year, Iveco Romania already achieved a great part of this target, following two contracts from its main Romanian dealer, Cefin. Guler Com Imex ordered 50 vehicles (with an option for 150 more during the next 24 months) and Dunca Expeditii bought 30 trucks, forcing Cefin’s CEO to abstain from any forecast regarding the market’s growth this year: ”Last year we experienced a 30% growth, with demand rising mainly from the distribution sector, but we can’t dare to imagine the degree of expansion for this year“

The new Iveco has a cab that has been seriously tweaked both inside and out. On the outside, everything below the windscreen is different, with the adoption of a new front grille and panel allowing more room for sign-writing plus a revised front bumper and headlight cluster. Above the screen is a sleeker, more aerodynamic roof moulding with a new roof-height option known as “Super Cube“ - 9,5 cm higher and 9 cm wider, providing 1,8 cubic meters of additional space. Under the hood there’s the old name of the Cursor engine line, but power units are brand new, Euro 5 compliant and promising 2 to 7% lower consumption.
