State-owned rail passenger company CFR "Calatori" announced the introduction of new trains on the Bucharest-Brasov route.

The new trains are electrically powered multiple units of the Z6100 French type. They will replace some of the "Blue Arrow" InterCity trains, offering higher capacity  (370 passengers, out of which 200 seated) and 2nd class comfort conditions. The trains used to roll on the French network and they have been overhauled in Romania. After modernization they can reach a top speed of 120 km/h, allowing the train to be classified as Rapid (high speed).
