The European Commission has warned air transport operators that it is compulsory to make public full costs of the ticket.

Their sites will be subject to a thorough study, and companies that do not respect the principle of transparency would suffer a heavy blow to the image when the results of the analysis will be made public.

Every year, in the European Union are sold over 700 million tickets, which means that over 55% of EU citizens use the purchase of air tickets on the Internet, paying them with bank cards. Sales are digital, but the Commission believes that the rights of consumers who purchase tickets online remain uncertain, given the large number of complaints.

Commission began a review of electronic trading systems of air-tickets in September 2007. Since then, the Commission continued monitoring and preparing a final report, which will include an assessment of additional actions necessary for the imposition of new rules.
