Romanian transportation business ended a rough year: traffic restrictions squeezed more freight on a already insufficient infrastructure, tariffs had a chaotic evolution with a huge drop in the beginning of last year when road hauliers needed no more authorizations for international shipments, while forwarders faced a dramatic drop in customs commissioning revenues.

This year comes with new challenges: increases of infrastructure access fees for road and rail transports, a new charging system for port operators, even more freight to be shipped on the same crowded infrastructure... The biggest challenge will be European funds accession, and this concerns not only authorities but also private operators. There’s money not only for infrastructure, but also for innovative transport projects.
