The Management Authority for the Sectorial Operational Program-Transport (SOP-T) has been green-lighted by the European Commission after two years of delays, together with two project implementing units in the Romanian highways and National Roads Company and the Romanian Railways Company.

This decision allows transport infrastructure managers to finally spend the 4,7 billion Euros earmarked by the European Commission for the infrastructure projects under SOP-T framework.

Although the whole budget for the 2007-2013 timeframe needs to be spent in only four and a half years, the minister of transports and Infrastructure is optimistic that no money will be returned to the EU.
