Kiev is determined to open the Bistryi canal

RBT editia nr. 17/Martie 2008 Articol adaugata la, 05 Martie 2008 ( RBT )
Afisari: 202

The Ukrainian minister of Transports, Iosif Vinski, announced at the first last month that the authorities from Kiev are determined to inaugurate the Bistryi canal this year.

The official criticized the delays engendered by the companies involved in the project and specified that anyone who would try to deter the canal’s execution, will be dismissed.

According to the experts, the new canal will allow the transit of two millions tons of freight and will generate 3.000 to 4.000 jobs. On this inland waterway, the companies in Ukraine will be able to ship goods in the Caucasian area, in the Near and Middle East, in North Africa and, from these areas, to the West up the Danube.
