MERCEDES ACTROS - INTERNATIONAL TRUCK OF THE YEAR 2009

RBT editia nr. 24/Octombrie 2008 Articol adaugata la, 10 Octombrie 2008 ( RBT )
Afisari: 469

At the end of last month, in the most important trade fair for vehicles in Europe - IAA Commercial Vehicles 2008, held in Hanover, an inter- national jury cast votes for the titles of truck, bus and van of the year. The winners are Mercedes-Benz, Setra, and the PSA-Fiat alliance.

The new Mercedes-Benz Actros fought off strong challenge from the new Iveco Eurocargo to take the trophy, while the new Volvo FH and Scania R Series with EGR engine shared the third position. Many jury members commented on the fact Actros is now offered with a com- plete safety package including lane guard system, ESP and ACC, which is made available to all customers.

The Actros has benefited from a number of improvements to the dri- vability and efficiency of the truck and the jury members when making their decisions also commented this on. The addition of the new auto- mated Powershift transmission as standard is a major step forward in driver’s comfort, as is the addition of the new bunk arrangement.
