MOL Romania oil company has extended its partnership agreement with the Romanian National Union of Road Hauliers from Romania (UNTRR) to a new level: hauliers will not only be able to get cheaper fuel from MOL stations but will also be offered a special service allowing them to download and manage data recorded by digital tachographs.

"Given the importance of optimizing costs in current economic conditions, the 5% deduction in the fuel expenses by using the solutions offered by the partnership with MOL Romania hangs in the balance very seriously. Fuel costs represent 30-40% of the total costs recorded by the transport companies, so reducing these costs may make the difference between profit and losses," said Radu Dinescu, Secretary General of the UNTRR.

Given the difficulties faced by the carriers, UNTRR and MOL Romania decided to implement so-called tacho-stations, where truck drivers will be able to download data recorded by tachographs.
