More tourists expected to come by airplane

Mr. Corneliu Balan, general manager of the „Mihail Kogalniceanu“ airport in Constantza is convinced that one of the aftermaths of Romania's adheration to the EU will be an increase in the number of airline passengers, including more tourists.
Mr. Balan's view is in contradiction with tourism agencies predictions, who are afraid of a reverse trend. „We certainly will see an increase in passenger traffic. We are currently in the final phase of negotiating contracts with some European airlines expressing interest in flying to and from Constantza's airport. The number of tourists will also increase, despite the concerns of some people, who think that foreign tourism operators lost interest in Romanian seaside resorts“, said Mr. Balan.
