It reached this decision because the airlines turned to various marketing tricks to attract customers. Such offers don’t mention airport taxes or the fees of travel agencies through which the booking is made and more and more customers come to find that the ticket price is much higher than advertised.
Under the regulation, which will come into force no later than early next year, all air transport companies are forced to make public detailed information on the Internet, directly or indirectly to the passengers regarding prices and charges, together with all taxes, mandatory fees, surcharges and other fees for the benefit of third parties. The low-cost companies, which usually display the lowest ticket prices, are not exempt from this requirement.
To accommodate the consumer, the MPs have called for tariffs applicable to the transport of passengers and cargo to be presented in the following separate categories:
– Taxes and other fees and contributions collected by state;
– Charges related to air traffic control;
– Taxes, contributions, fees and other charges levied for the benefit of air companies;
– Commissions, contributions, taxes and other charges levied for the benefit of airport operators.
If any airport costs or security on board costs are included in the price of the ticket, they will be listed separately on the ticket or will be transmitted by other means to the passenger.
