Next year, truck taxes are up 20%

RBT editia nr. 19/Mai 2008 Articol adaugata la, 05 Mai 2008 ( RBT )

Romania’s new position as a member state of the European Union brings not only new business opportunities, but also tax burdens to road transport managers.

Without realizing that local authorities must apply European rules, many of the truck owners were shocked to see how the Government increases taxes on commercial vehicles.

While this year taxes were increased in December, last month the Ministry of Transports published the proposed levels of taxation for 2009. The increases are of 20% for trucks driven only in Romania, and 5% for those involved in both local and international haulage.
