Niche businesses - a chance for small couriers

RBT editia nr. 6/Aprilie 2007 Articol adaugata la, 07 Aprilie 2007 ( RBT )
Afisari: 168

Octavian Badescu, secretary general of the Romanian Couriers Association, thinks that local poerators might still be able to make profits even after foreign couriers will enter the market. on the other hand, he sees no chance for small couriers if they don’t focus their businesses on a market niche.

RBT: How would you describe the Romanian courier market?

OB: It’s way below its potential. By comparison, Romanian market is not even near the Hungarian one, although the latter country is more than twice smaller, both by surface and population. Some estimations put Romania and Bulgaria in the top of the growing East European markets, according to volume of shipments.
