While no longer than two months ago a similar rail accident in Bulgaria ended up with the prompt resignation of Transports Minister Petar Mutafchiev, in Romania, the guilty of charge was settled to be... the railway switch. And, of course, no heads rolled.
Even without resignations, Minister Ludovic Orban deserves some appreciation, as he publicly admitted the railways crisis, and even tried to mend it by promoting a law to offer a substantial rail subsidy. And yet, that is far from enough: from talking to actually changing things is a huge distance all too often.
