The National Highways and Roads Company in Romania (CNADNR, in Romanian) will benefit of 532 millions RON for the rehabilitation and of 604 millions RON for the maintenance of the national roads network, which represents about 35% of the total sum needed for this sort of works, 3,27 billions RON, respectively.

According to the Ministry of Transports data, for the national roads’ rehabilitation works in 2008, CNADNR needs 1,68 billions RON, while for the maintenance, 1,6 billion is needed.

For this year, CNADNR received only 40% of the entire work and maintenance necessary funds. As the company’s representatives stated, the total necessary sum for 2007 was estimated to 2 billions RON, but the approved budget goes up to only 857, 9 millions.

On the first six months in 2007, CNADNR made rehabilitation and maintenance works on 500 km of national roads, while the plan had established the road rehabilitation of 1.500 km.
