Police: fewer offences on the railway

According to a press release from the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police, the number of offences that affected the rail infrastructure has reduced by 36,6% in the first quarter of 2008 compared to last year’s same period.

According to the authority’s representatives, the lower rate of crimes against railway property is owed to a “measures plan” drawn up by the Transport Police Directorate. The plan settles that not only the agents of the special Transport Police should make interventions, but also by agents of the normal Police close to where the law-breakers act.
