In a release from the two NGOs the Railway Industry Association in Romania and the Rail Transporters Association (AIF and ATFER, in Romanian) express their discontents towards the additional act to the activity contract of the National Railway Company for 2008-2011 from the Ministry of Transports and Infrastructure.

The subscribers deplore the discrepancy between statements and deeds from the authorities in charge: the high tickets' prices, which lead to a lower request from the rail passengers, the scarce funds appropriated for railway works and modernization, which lead to bankruptcy and professional disqualification for the operators in the field. Also, the AIF and ATFER draw the attention on the negative social impact of unemployment for the railway employees and the unfair competition of the road operators, which do not promote ecologic transport means, and which are also supported by the Ministry's policy. The address foresees a gloom future for the environment and for the "laden generations" who will have to pay for re-building the vital infrastructure, which seems to be a certain promise for the coming underdeveloped society and bankrupt producers.
