Prof. Pencea underlines the fact that there is a thorough economic boost in the areas where has been maintained a decent transport infrastructure. Bucharest, Timisoara, Cluj, Constantza, Arad and Oradea are getting close to the average economic development level in the EU. Further more, due to lack of appropriate infrastructure conditions, access in agricultural areas is being restricted and the wear in transport vehicle remains great, together with the high pollution degree.
A solution would be a lower fuel price, as Romania is an oil producer country. But this all depends on negotiating additional terms with OMV, because the contract signed when Romania sold Petrom to the Austrians gives too little to the seller in the long term and few possibilities to obtain more in the short term.
