A report on competitiveness conducted by the World Economic Forum places Romania on a place higher than last year’s, but acknowledges major shortcomings at the infrastructure chapter with the shameful last place amongst the EU Member States.

Among the 133 countries included in the Global Competitiveness Report 2009-2010, according to the Group of Applied Economics, World Economic Forum’s partner in Romania, our country ranked 64, with four positions higher than last year.

Compared to the previous report in which Romania was on the penultimate place in the European Union, this year, Latvia, Greece and Bulgaria were considered the least competitive countries.

The lowest score (2,67) was obtained by Romania for the state of infrastructure, occupying the 110th position and topping the last in the European Union.
