Transport Ministry signed last month a tachincal assistance contract for ameliorating the navigation conditions in the Romanian-Bulgarian river sector.
Funded with 2,58 million Euros, the contract must be finished in 14 months and was attributed to the Belgian company Technum owned by Suez-Tractebel.This consultant contracted by the Ministry must analyse and identify relevant works needed to ease navigation on the river. Technical assistance granted will translate into a feasibility study, an environmental impact study and financing requests for works between Portile de Fier II and Calarasi/Silistra, in the port of Tulcea, on the Danube-Black Sea and Poarta Alba-Midia Navodari canals, respectively for the extension of Calafat port infrastructure.
