Romanian Banking Association (ARB, in Romanian) agreed last month together with the representatives of several employers’ associations in Romania not to use a general delay in payment credit rates for SMEs.

A 12 months deferred payment of loans to viable SMEs was to be regulated by the authorities, but the ARB launched a counteroffer. They made the suggestion of making available to SMEs a set of schemes to restructure loans in order to help them negotiate with the financial institutions a reduction of the installments or a delay of payment.
