The above mentioned are among the proposed legislative changes to improve the business environment in the middle of major economic endeavours. Prime-minister Emil Boc announced the postponing of the payment in advance for the profits tax. According to a law adopted in 2007, from this year on, the companies should have paid off the profits tax in advance, by quarterly instalments representing a quarter of the profits tax value paid the previous year. Another facility announced by the prime-minister refers to the case when the company pays part of the debts to the state: the sum will be deducted from the main debit – and not out of the penalties, as present – to prevent adding up other back payments.
The Senate approved a legislative project which aims at paying the VAT in less than 30 days after issuing the receipt of invoices, and not on the spot, when the invoice is issued. The legislative proposal is to be talked over in the Chamber of Deputies plenum, although there have already been raised protests from the Government’s representatives.
