The EC adopted on October 18th an initiative package for making the freight a more efficient one, by measures of sustaining the ship and rail transport, in detriment of the road transport.

Amongst others, the measures aim at defining some rail corridors mainly dedicated to freight, at the bureaucratic procedures’ simplification in the maritime transports in the EU’s ports, and at encouraging the logistical innovations.
