The European Union enforces new regulations for livestock transportation

RBT editia nr. 4/Februarie 2007 Articol adaugata la, 15 Februarie 2007 ( )
Afisari: 287

On January the 5th a newly enforced set of EU transport regulations insists that all the vehicle used for livestock transportation must be equipped with GPS systems.
Apart from that, not only the transportation crew, but the driver as well, have to take intensive classes in veterinary attendance in order to be officially certified in supervising the transported animals by the start of 2008. The law is strict when it comes to new-born animals and cubs in general: they are not allowed to be transported any far than a 100 km distance. The vehicles must provide a proper climate so that the animals can travel in favourable conditions.
