The FIATA world congress, which took place from the 18th to 22nd of October, got together 1.152 delegates from 93 countries.

During the event, William Gottlieb (Canada) was unanimously elected as FIATA’s new President and delegates approved applications from two new Association members from Jordan and Thailand.

The hosts in the emirate presented to the participants to the congress a so-called ”logistics city“ - Dubai World Central, a transport hub with a 140 square km area. DWC will benefit from the services of the largest airport in the world, with a 120 millions-passenger capacity and 12 millions freight tonnes. The airport is to be finished in 2015, when, by establishing a huge free-zone which will include the Jebel Ali port, will result a multimodal hub with no rival.
