The international presence of the Romanian logistics in the overweight and multimodal transports

This month, 30 fermentation tanks for the beer industry will cross Romania, all of them bearing Dacorom’s forwarder seal. After having become ”the father“ of an Italian beer in Romania by removing a whole factory from Napoli to Buzau, the company will put its efforts into increasing the production volume of other breweries, in Craiova, Constantza and Miercurea Ciuc.

Since 2001, when Dacorom initiated door-to-door expedition projects, the company’s results have come about following the stress on the overweight transportation services, up to 2005, when it won an international bids for transporting the equipment aimed at modernizing the Arpechim Pitesti and Petrobrazi Ploiesti refinery.

The company’s success seems to stem from the experience gained by the Dacorom’s team, while the company had a transport operator activity, as Valentin Niculescu, manager of Dacorom’s Bucharest branch explains: ”Firstly, we decide the route, the means of transport, the ports we are to use and only afterwards we seek the transporters capable of fulfilling all the request and meet all our conditions. Other big forwarders don’t bother with these details in the first place, simply asking transporters to come with a tailored solution“.

The future plans aim at expanding the geographical action area for Dacorom, especially by consolidating the bridgeheads in Asia and South America.
