The market keeps on counting on car insurance

RBT editia nr. 17/Martie 2008 Articol adaugata la, 05 Martie 2008 ( RBT )

Romanian insurance companies foresee a growth in turnover in the range of 20 to 27% this year, up to 2,7 billion Euros, especially on car insurances’ account. According to Asitrans-EuroIns, the liability policies (RCA for short in Romanian) will reach a 600 million Euros volume, while the Casco policies will sum up one billion Euros.

After the first 9 months in 2007, the Casco and RCA policies accounted for almost 58% of the insurances market, amounting to 934 millions Euros. The figure marks a 43,3% growth in the volume of subscribed policies over the value recorded in the first three quarters of 2006.

On the other side, some insurers think that it’s about time for a change of focus towards insurances for the companies, especially for the SMEs. The potential is currently barely exploited, taking into account that there is a wide range of policies that may be contracted, such as Employers Liability, Business Interruption, and Products Liability.
