The new airplane seat model brings added comfort

Those who said the plane seats as uncomfortable can now change their point of view, as a designer with Romanian origins offered the airlines a seat re-thinking. The concept, which maximizes the seats’ room, adds more seating capacity and offers two flexible arms back, to each passenger, as part of the future aircraft generation.

The new model assumes the re-setting position of the seats using the space above: the Economy class passengers will have a more comfortable position by moving the seat's backrest, and those in business class will be able to nearly lie, leaving the backseat in an almost horizontal position.

According to the project, the simplest version allows removing the seats in the Economy class with approximately 18 cm and tilt them back to 45 degrees, two times more than the present chairs allow. The feet can then be raised on a platform that is attached to the front seat.

"This is a model that the company Airbus wants to encourage," said Mary Anne Greczyn, Airbus communications manager.
