The Congress was an anniversary event, marking 80 years since FIATA's founding. It represented an excellent opportunity to start new partnerships and close deals with companies all over the world, and especially with those which drive the Chinese ever-expanding economy. For the Romanian representatives, the 8,000 km voyage to the shores of East China Sea was not in vain. "Romania enjoys a very good reputation in China and I think we are obliged to make the most of this. Besides, the projects presented to Chinese potential partners attracted attention and interest. I think at least some of the projects have good chances to be materialized." sayd Mr. Stefan Popa, president of the Bucharest Commerce and Industry Chambers.
Chinese authorities involved as organizers of the Congress didn't miss the chance of presenting their model for a competitive economy on a gigantic scale. They had what to be proud of: Shanghai, the host city for the Congress, is regarded as the center of finance and trade in mainland China. "I'd say it's difficult to define a specific pattern in the Chinese way of conducting business. Presuming we could identify such a pattern, it would be even difficult to reproduce it in other countries. What can be learned from Chinese companies, but also from many other Asian firms, is the dynamism, the total commitment in following a business strategy, rational use of resources and especially the determination to develop and grow. These elements are of course worthless without sustained and hard work and in this respect we still have a lot to learn from Chinese companies", added Mr. Popa.
