Vehicle liability insurances come from the same insurers

Last month, six more insurance companies received the authorization to sell vehicle liability insurance (RCA in short in Romanian) in 2008. The last authorized companies are ABC Asigurari-Reasigurari, Carpatica Asig, Clal Romania, Interamerican, OTP Garancia and Unita Vienna Insurance Group.

In fact, the six companies, together with the ones authorized in November last year, make up the same ”RCA list“ as in 2006, without any new-entry. This doesn’t mean that all is well for the insurance market governing body (CSA in short in Romanian): some of the companies authorized in the last minute were found in breach of specific regulations. ”Any breach of the regulation 11/2007 for the application of the laws referring to the vehicle liability insurances for the prejudices caused by the car accidents will engender the involved companies“, warned Angela Toncescu, CSA president, stating that the insurance tariff should include the basic tariffs enforced by the insurers, together with the entire discount system according to the peculiar criteria established for the insurance premium’s growth and decrease.
