Victory without strike

RBT editia nr. 17/Martie 2008 Articol adaugata la, 05 Martie 2008 ( RBT )
Afisari: 216

Without doubt, road hauliers’ bewilderment was the most important issue of last month, albeit a not so visible one. It is true that the expected shock image of roads blocked by lorries failed to materialize, the open strike being replaced by a symbolic protest: drivers hanged white cloth to their rearview mirrors.

Even without roadblocks, transporters still managed to obtain some victories: they met and got better organized, started negotiations with the Ministry of Transports, and fought a battle of reason instead of resorting to an inflexible position.

The fight of arguments and rebuttal has just begun, but transporters’ played well their first move. The ball is now in the authorities’ field.
