The premiere is even more important since, without such public-private partnerships, the gaps in transportation infrastructure in Romania can not be resolved within a reasonable time. European funds are not enough; the budget sinks in electoral bites, so motorways could only be made with the money from those willing private investors.
Obviously, those who want to come up with their money also want to recover the fat investment, so access to those sections of granted motorway will be paid. Already, one must pay 1.75 euro for each vehicle axle, on the Brasov and Comarnic segment.
As soon as the motorways they exist, the goods will be transported via roads and the carriers will be required to pay access charges and will also suffer all the consequences of the potential errors in the contracts signed by the Ministry with the entrepreneurs.
In these circumstances, payment should be passed to our government’s bill too, because it’s a fact that we pay, while there will always be issues in the process and our representatives will have to stand up when it comes to paying. Theoretically, they pay on elections time, but awareness of the electoral sanctions’ strength is something too demanding in a country where votes are traded on mititei and beer.
